ALL YEAR ROUND COMFORT
Chemalsky District has a pleasant climate — hot summers, long and warm autumns, winters with little snow. In summer, you can enjoy the forest and the mountains. In winter, when snow covers the ground and the river freezes, you can admire the famous blue lakes of Altai. Read more about the blue lakes
The beauty of the nature
The location of the Center is picturesque. There are numerous natural wonders within 30 kilometers distance such as blue lakes, waterfalls, magnificent mountains.
LOCATION
This is probably the most famous landmark of this extraordinary place — the unique blue lakes. The three blue lakes appeared about 25 thousand years ago. Located on the left bank of the Katun river, four to five kilometers from the village of Askat, they got their name for the unusual color — on sunny days, the lakes look amazingly blue. Locals believe that the water in these lakes has healing powers and can be used to cure eye diseases. The properties of the water make the blue lakes sacred; they are believed to help women get pregnant. The blue lakes are not constant — they disappear when the Katun overflows and reappear when the water level gets lower.

THE MIRACLES OF ALTAI
In winter, lakes do not freeze. The water temperature stays at the level of 9°C. At the bottom of the lakes there are incredibly powerful springs. There are no hot springs, all of them are cold! However they give such a water supply that the lakes can withstand even bitter frosts, around –40°C, without freezing. In summer, the lakes disappear under the waters of the Katun, so you can admire this miracle only in autumn and winter (normally, September to April).

The total area of the lakes is about 400 square meters, and the depth reaches 17 meters.

In late autumn, the water level in the Katun river drops, leaving only a slow-flowing stream, two kilometers away from the village of Anos. The lakes reappear in winter, when the ground is covered with snow, and the Katun is covered with ice, but the lakes never freeze.
The power of nature
Transparently clean air, the majestic silence of the trees, the healing power of the lakes, and the magic of the Altai mountains create perfect conditions for well-being. This is the place where the healing effect of the “Ulutai” Center methodic increases manifolds.
