Absolute contraindications to calorie restriction
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Decision on fasting is made on a case-to-case basis following a data collection, medical examination, laboratory and functional tests of a guest.
  •  Cardiovascular conditions: fibrillation; paroxysmal tachycardia with frequent attacks; heart failure (stages C and D); uncontrolled hypertension, hypertensive crisis; cardiomyopathy; third-degree atrioventricular block with a heart rate under 50 bpm or Adams–Stokes syndrome; myocardial infarction, including a rehabilitation period of six months; indications for heart surgery and a rehabilitation period after surgery (six months)
  • Digestive conditions: acute and chronic hepatitis of any etiology; cirrhosis of any etiology; liver failure; ulcerative colitis; diverticulosis
  • Endocrine conditions: type 1 diabetes; insulin-dependent type 2 diabetes; Graves' disease (thyrotoxicosis); severe forms of hypothyroidism
  • Musculoskeletal conditions: joint and muscle disorders restricting self-care and mobility
  • Neuropsychiatric conditions: cerebrovascular disease; uncontrolled seizures and alike; psychopathy; epilepsy; bipolar disorder; pathologic personality development with behavioral and social anxiety disorders; multiple sclerosis; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; Parkinson's disease; Alzheimer's disease; myopathy and other neurological diseases, mental and behavioral disorders
  • Kidney conditions: chronic renal failure, glomerulonephritis
  • Hematological conditions: leukemia, lymphoma, hemostatic disorders (hemophilia, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytopathy, hemorrhagic vasculitis), moderate and severe anemia
  • Systemic connective tissue diseases (during hormone and cytotoxic therapy): systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), dermatomyositis, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic scleroderma, systemic vasculitis
  • Reluctance to fast, doubts, fears
  • Artificial implants (pacemaker), skin grafts, heart valves
  • Transplanted internal organs (heart, kidney, etc.)
  • Pregnancy
  • Tuberculosis of any localization
  • Thrombophlebitis and phlebothrombosis
  • Post-surgery condition (six months)
  • Oncological conditions and family history of oncological diseases
  • Venereal diseases (syphilis, gonorrhea)
  • Acute infections
  • Drug addiction
  • Underweight (body mass index under 19)
  • Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV, AIDS)
